قررت شركة "رينولدز أميركان” لصناعة السجائر منع موظفيها من التدخين داخل مكاتبها ومقراتها.
وأبلغت ثاني أكبر شركة لصناعة السجائر في الولايات المتحدة، موظفيها أنه ابتداء من مطلع العام المقبل، سيمنع تدخين السجائر التقليدية أو السيجار أو الغليون في مكاتب الموظفين ومكاتب الشركة وقاعات المؤتمرات والممرات الداخلية والمصاعد.
وكان التدخين ممنوعاً أساساً في المصانع والكافيتيريا ومراكز اللياقة البدنية التابعة للشركة التي تنتج سجائر "كامل”.
وقال الناطق باسم "رينولدز” ديفيد هاورد، إن سياسة منع التدخين داخل مقرات الشركة ستدخل حيز التنفيذ بعد أن تنتهي الأخيرة من بناء مساحات داخلية خاصة بالمدخنين.
غير أن الشركة ستسمح في الوقت ذاته باستخدام السجائر الإلكترونية وغيرها من المنتجات التي تحتوي على التبغ ولكن لا تُدَخَّن.
يشار إلى أن نسبة المدخنين بين موظفي "رينولدز” البالغ عددهم 5200 تساوي نسبة المدخنين من الولايات المتحدة أي 18في المئة.
