تحول مشجع سويسري إلى مشرد على مدى 11 عاماً، بعد أن ضل طريق العودة، عندما خرج من ملعب لكرة القدم في مدينة ميلانو الإيطالية التي سافر إليها لحضور المبارة.
وكان رولف بانتلي (71 عاماً) قد سافر إلى إيطاليا في 24 أغسطس (آب) 2004، ليحضر مباراة فريق بازل السويسري، ضد فريق إنتر ميلان الإيطالي بملعب سان سيرو، ضمن إطار منافسات دوري أبطال أوروبا.
لكن المشجع الذي كان يقيم في الأصل بمركز لإعادة تأهيل مدمني الكحول، اعتبر في عداد المفقودين بعد المباراة، ولم يستقل الحافلة التي كانت تقل زملاءه من المشجعين العائدين إلى بلادهم بحسب ما ذكر موقع أوديتي سنترال.
حياة المشردينوكشف بانتلي مؤخراً عن تفاصيل القصة لإحدى الصحف السويسرية المحلية، حيث توجه إلى الحمّام لقضاء حاجته بعد المباراة، ولم يتمكن من العودة إلى المكان الذي كان يجلس فيه باقي المشجعين للفريق السويسري.
ولسوء حظه لم يكن يحمل هاتفاً محمولاً، وكان بحوزته مبلغاً من المال لا يتعدى 20 يورو، مما دفعه للتجول في شوارع ميلانو حيث حصل على الطعام والسجائر من المارّة، وقدم له أحدهم كيساً للنوم.
التمتع بحياة الحريّةوبدلاً من أن يصاب بالهلع، فكر بانتلي بأنه لا يوجد أي سبب يدعوه للعودة إلى بلاده، فلا يوجد هناك أي أقارب يقيم معهم، لذلك فضل البقاء والتمتع بحياة الحرية في شوارع ميلانو. حيث استفاد من لطف السكان المحليين للحصول على الطعام والشراب، كما كان يستحم في الحمامات العامة، ويزور المكتبات المحلية بانتظام.
وخرجت قصة بانتلي للعلن في الآونة الأخيرة، بعد أن سقط وكسر عظم فخذه، وأدرك العاملون في المستشفى أنه لا يمتلك تأميناً صحياً يغطي نفقات علاجه، واتصلت إدارة المستشفى بالقنصلية السويسرية، حيث تم نقله إلى دار للمسنين في بازل.
