حيرت قرية نائية في جنوب غرب الصين العلماء لعقود، ولم يستطيعوا تفسير ظاهرة التقزم لحوالي 40 في المائة من سكانها، الذين تتراوح أطوالهم بين 63 و116 سنتيمترا.
ويبلغ عدد سكان قرية يانغسي في
مقاطعة سيتشوان الصينية 80 شخصاً، منهم 36 شخصا يعانون من التقزم، وهي نسبة كبيرة جدا بحيث يتم تصنيفها على أنها حدوث عشوائي، ولكن حتى الآن لم يتمكن احد من تقديم تفسير أفضل.
مرض غريب تعرض له سكان القرية
ويقول شيوخ القرية، التي أطلق عليها اسم “قرية الأقزام”، إن مرضا غريبا اجتاح المنطقة منذ سنوات عديدة، حيث عانى الأطفال الذين تتراوح أعمارهم بين 5 و7 أعوام من حالة غامضة جعلتهم يتوقفون عن النمو، وظلوا بنفس طولهم لبقية حياتهم.
وذكرت وسائل إعلام محلية إن العلماء والخبراء زاروا قرية يانغسي، وقاموا بدراسة المياه والتربة، والمزروعات في المنطقة، وأخذوا أيضا عينات من الأشخاص المصابين.
إلا أن العلماء ومع ذلك لم يتمكنوا من تحديد السبب وراء هذه الحالة، التي ما زالت غامضة منذ 60 عاماً ونيف، وفقا لما نشرته صحيفة “تلغراف” البريطانية.
