ولم تتيح 'يوتيوب' إمكانية تغيير الرابط الخاص بالقنوات بشكل كامل، موضحة أنها ستقوم باقتراح مجموعة من الأسماء الجاهزة تم استنتاجها بالاعتماد على وصف القناة والمواقع المرتبطة بها.
ويمكن للمستخدم اختيار أحد الخيارات الجديدة التي ستظهر له، مع طلب التغيير لاسم من اختيار المستخدم، بعد موافقة 'يوتيوب'.
وسيقود الرابط الجديد للقناة الزائرين لها، إلى الرابط الأساسي بحيث تكون الروابط الخاصة أكثر ملائمة مع نشاط القناة الجديد – حال تغييرها- بعد مرور وقت طويل من إنشائها.
