وحسبما ذكرت صحيفة 'ميرور' البريطانية، تُظهِر الصورة الدخان المتصاعد من برجيّ مركز التجارة العالمي، بعدما صدمتهما الطائرة الأولى بين الطائرات المختطفة حينها.
ونشر الصورة أحد مستخدمي موقع 'Reddit' للتواصل الاجتماعي الصورة، زاعمًا أن عائلة صديقه التقطت تلك الصورة من طائرة كانت تُقلع من مطار نيوارك في الولايات المتحدة الأمريكية.

يذكر أن أحداث 11 سبتمبر وقعت عام 2001، بعدما اُختطفت 4 طائرات ركاب، واستهدفت طائرتين منهم برجي مركز التجارة العالمي، واستهدفت الطائرة الثالثة مقر البنتاجون، بينما كانت الطائرة الرابعة في طريقها لتستهدف مقر الكونجرس، إلا أن مقاومة الركاب حالت دون بلوغ الهدف، وأجبر الخاطفين على إسقاطها في حقل شانكسفيل في ولاية بنسلفانيا.
