ألقت الشرطة في ولاية كارولاينا الجنوبية الأمريكية القبض على طالب مدرسة ثانوية، بعد أن كتب موضوعاً في المدرسة عن استخدامه السلاح لقتل "ديناصور" يعيش كحيوان أليف في منزل الجيران.
ومنعت مدرسة سومر فيلد الثانوية الطالب أليكس ستون (16 عاماً) من متابعة الدراسة فيها بقية الأسبوع بعد الحادثة، فيما أبدى أليكس رغبته في متابعة الدراسة المنزلية بحسب ما ذكرت صحيفة نيويورك دايلي نيوز الأمريكية.
وكان المعلم قد طلب من أليكس وزملائه كتابة بعض العبارات والأفكار عن أنفسهم، ومن ثم تحديد الحالة كما لو كانوا يدونون منشوراً على فيس بوك.
وكتب أليكس في موضوعه :"لقد قتلت حيوان الديناصور الأليف الخاص بالجيران"، وفي خانة الحالة كتب: "اشتريت سلاحاً نارياً خصيصاً لإنجاز المهمة".
وعبرت والدة أليكس عن غضبها لأن إدارة المدرسة سارعت إلى الاتصال بالشرطة قبل إبلاغها بالأمر، وأبدت دهشتها من التهمة الموجهة لابنها لأن عصر الديناصورات انتهى منذ ملايين السنين، كما أن أليكس دون السن القانونية التي تسمح لح بشراء سلاح.
واعتبر أليكس أن ما حدث تصرف غير مبرر من جهة المدرسة، خاصة بعد أن دونت الحادثة كنقطة ضمن سجلاته المدرسية، وكان بالإمكان التغاضي عن الأمر لأن ما كتبه لم يكن موجهاً ضد أحد، ولم يشكل تهديداً لأي شخص.
